How to get beautiful hair ?

It is possible to have beautiful hair without lots of time and effort? Absolutely! Just follow our tips day by day. Essential steps for glorious tresses.

1. Apply botanical oil masks regularly before shampooing.

Applying a mask after washing your hair is very useful for detangling, but applied before shampooing, a mask is ideal to deeply nourish, strengthen and fortify the hair. Best choice: a botanical oil mask containing oils such as sweet almond, coconut, hazelnut, macadamia or castor. You can find many different varieties of oils with moisturizing, nourishing, softening or toning properties for the hair.

Ideal: combine different oils to reap a variety of benefits. Must-have: an all-in-one product such as Huile Prodigieuse®, an exceptional blend of seven 100% botanical oils, tsubaki, camellia, almond, borage, hazelnut, macadamia and argan, to nourish, soften and repair.
Bonus: easy application. Simply dispense a few sprays of oil into the palm of your hand, warm it between your fingertips and then distribute over the lengths, focusing slightly more on the ends which are more susceptible to breakage.

Leave the oil on your hair for between 10 minutes and 1 hour (the longer you leave it, the more your hair will absorb the oil’s properties). To intensify the effect, wrap your hair in a warm, damp towel: the heat will encourage the scales to open, allowing the hair to absorb the active ingredients from the oils more effectively. Then shampoo your hair as usual. That’s all there is to it!

2. Don’t wash your hair too often.

Although washing your hair is essential to keep it healthy, over-frequent cleansing can be damaging and irritate the scalp. Shampooing your hair depletes sebum, which is essential to protect the scalp and hair when produced in sufficient quantity.

The more often you wash your hair and the more you deplete this protective sebum, the more your scalp will produce to compensate for the loss: causing your hair to become greasy. To break this vicious circle, shampoo your hair every 2 to 3 days, using a dry shampoo in between if you need a little freshen up.

Small steps that make a big difference: shampoo your hair from top to bottom, massaging gently, without rubbing in different directions: your hair will be less tangled, easier to style and less prone to breakage. Finally, rinse your hair with lukewarm water: very hot water has a harsh effect on your scalp and will make it greasy faster. Bonus: finish with a final rinse of cold water to close the hair fiber and coat the hair.

3. Don’t blow-dry your hair excessively or use straightening and curling devices too often.

As with washing, overly frequent use of a hair-dryer will irritate the hair fiber and scalp with excess the heat. Your hair will then tend to become greasy and be more fragile and brittle.

Our recommendation: leave your hair to dry naturally whenever you can, or blow-dry at a cool or medium setting if you have to use a hair-dryer, for example, in winter. The same applies if you use straighteners or curling tongs. Try not to use them every day as the heat will damage your hair.

Ideal: pre-dry your hair by wrapping it in a towel to absorb the water. Don’t rub your hair with the towel as this could cause it to become tangled and break when styled.

4. Brush your hair every day

If you want supple and shiny hair, you need to detangle it at least once a day. Brushing helps to remove residual dust that has accumulated over the course of day, as well as distributing sebum from the roots evenly over the hair.

Although we often try to remove it when too much is produced, in the right quantity, sebum has many protective, moisturizing and strengthening qualities for the hair.

When it comes to choosing a brush, find one that is suitable for your hair type: a flat brush with boar or silk bristles, with pins, oval, round or square or even a wide-toothed comb… Another little tip: remember to clean your brush with shampoo from time to time!
